Corrective measures for 29 July 2020

Do the next right thing
Keep it in the day
Head in the clouds with God
But not in the boardroom
Stay active on the shop floor

To seek to do God's will today is a sufficient mission
What the world thinks of this is none of my business
What my ego thinks of this is none of my business
It's OK to reject the intrinsic importance of the material
Which is merely a vehicle for the spiritual

Stop trying to fix oneself with intellect or even with spiritual plans and designs:

'... at this point, you should discontinue human remedies and resign yourself entirely to the providence of God.
Perhaps He waits only for that resignation and perfect faith in Him to cure you.
Since, in spite of all the care you have taken, treatment has proved unsuccessful and your malady still increases, wait no longer.
Put yourself entirely in His hands and expect all from Him.' (Brother Lawrence)

I went to see this old man, and I would tell him: 'The sky is falling; the bogeyman is real.' He would sigh and say: 'Everything is already alright.' So listen to everything, step back, watch the river flow, tap the top of that little boy's head and say: 'Everything is already alright.' That's how you respond to having an alcoholic head.

Listen to the body. There's a lot of sense in watching out for 'HALT' (hungry, angry, lonely, tired).

It's not true because it's in the Big Book; it's in the Big Book because it's true.

We've been pulled from the scrapheap alive, so we say to God: 'Put me in, Coach, I'm ready to play.' (Joe McF)
