Why do what is right?

Doing what is right doesn't always feel fun, appealing, or pleasant. Sometimes people get scared that they will become like robots if they try and behave well and comply with the rules or laws of whatever religious or spiritual system they have adopted, as though they are otherwise free. Running on instinct and emotion is the real robotic way to live, driven by genetically programmed impulses and societal conditioning, doing what you want to do, when you want to do it, because of 'wants' that originate from inside you and over which you have no control. It is only by going against what one 'wants' and trying to do God's will simply because you've been informed, one way or another, that it is God's will, that you escape from the robotic programming and enter into a relationship of love.
