The light in which you see

With the light turned off, everything is seen as shifting shadows; the decaying self; the base and vile, intent on attack and destruction; the disintegration of all that is good. When the light is turned on, the shadows disappear. When the higher Self is sought inside, the lower self fades as a dream that cannot be recalled even a few moments after waking. The higher Self is the source of light in which all other Selves are seen, and in which their shadow Selves dissolve. Close your eyes: ask to be drawn to the higher Self, the channel of light and strength to the Source beyond; you cannot fail, because you are naturally drawn towards Home; all you need do is let go of physical sight as your orientation point, and the current will take you there; from the new vantage point, espy the higher Self of everyone around you and look past appearances. We are but One.
