Holding onto old ideas

Hatred and hostility stem from fear; fear stems from a belief we are separate from one another, in competition for the meagre resources of the material world, fighting over scraps of money or power or prestige in a bit to wrest thrill or comfort before the lights finally go out. All old ideas derive ultimately from this illusion of separation. 'I can do all things through Him who strengthens me': the power is there within you, shining as an infinite source of good, and present as the essence of who you are. Our only job is to shackle ourselves to that power, to take it as the light yoke on our shoulders, and to let it reach the spirits of others, past all appearances, to rejoin that from which we believe ourselves separated but from which we have never been separated except in illusion. Today is the day to let go of the old idea of separation and to be restored to the unity that is the truth beyond illusions.
